Danish Warmbloods doing great in the National Young Horse Championships16-10-2019 - 11:12

At the finals of the Danish Equestrian Federation Young Horse Championships taking place at Blue Hors premises in Randbøl and powered by Pavo there were both winners and top placings for a lot of Danish Warmbloods in dressage- as well as show jumping age groups.

Show jumping finals

Among the 4-year-olds it became a battle of stallions. Winner was the German-registered, but DWB-licensed stallion Cassado Ask by Casall/Corrado I with his rider Maria Bjørnkjær Asferg.  Runner-up was another licensed stallion, the previous elite auction foal and premium stallion Syvhøjegårds Unforgetable S DWB by Untouchable/Cassini I (Breeders Sally-Ann and Flemming Schultz), ridden by Jesper Meyenburg and obtaining 8,7 in total score. As a shared no. 4 the champion from the DWB stallion licensing and performance test winner Vong’s Brunello DWB TF by Balou/Con Capitol (breeder Bjarne Nielsen) ridden by Mia Oudal.

The best 5-year-old showjumper in Denmark was the incredibly super jumping Katrinelund Satisfaction by Sandro’s Adel/Crelido (Breeder Ib Kirk), who got 8,9 in total score. The DWB stallion Elmegårdens Dakota by E Bøgegårdens Dicapo/Catoki (Breeders Maria and Martine Schnoor) became third in that final, and 5th went to the mare Why Not by Warrant/Calypso II (Breder Lauritz Lauritzen) ridden by Charlotte Schreiber.

In the finals of the 6-year-old jumpers the Danish Warmblood stallion Cyrano Ask by Ci Ci Senjor Ask/Kannan (bred by Stutteri Ask) was safely ridden to victory by Søren Møller Rohde. This final also held a lot of other DWB horses.

Dressage finals at the Danish National Young Horse Championships

The winner of the 4-yar-old dressage championships was a DWB-licensed, KWPN stallion, Kardieno by Dante Weltino/Parcival ridden by Thomas Sigtenbjerggaard, closely followed by the licensed DWB stallion Highfive Fuglsang by Grand Galaxy Win/ De Niro (Breeder Anne Dorte Riis Meyland) exceptionllay nicely ridden by young Anders Uwe Sjøbeck Hoeck. The combination right after in the prize ring was silver medal mare Diva Lyng by Damon Hill/ Blue Hors Hotline (Breeder Anne Lyngbye Melsen) and ridden by Michael Søgaard.

The breeding stallions qued up to secure themselves the winner title as the best 5-year-old dressage horse in Denmark, but nobody surpassed the brillian gold medal mare Queenparks Wendy by Sezuan/Blue Hors Soprano (breeder Kurt Gosmer) ridden by Andreas Helgstrand – a combination that also got a bronze medal at the WBFSH Young Horse Championships in Ermelo in August 2019.

A very strong collection of Danish Warmbloods came in as no 2-6 among the 6-year-old dressage horses, but it was the Ermelo-winner and champion stallion Revolution by Rocky Lee/Rouletto ridden by Andreas Helgstrand who took home the victory.

Best DWB in this final was the previous elite auction horse Baunehøjens Carpaccio by Charmeur/Kermo’s White Talisman (Breeder Pia Gobert), very nicely ridden by its owner Anette Ejlersgaard. As third and thereby best 6-year-old DWB mare came the silver medal mare Atterupgaard Delorean by Bon Bravour/Sandro Hit (Breeder Atterupgaard) ridden by Norwegian Selina Solberg Vittinghus.

All good things come in – FOUR!

For the rider Jan Møller Christensen and the gold medal stallion Hesselhøj Donkey Boy by ERA Dancing Hit/Milan (Breeders Dorthe Sjøbeck and Hans Jørgen Hoeck), it was the 4th time that they won the Danish Young Horse Dressage Championships in a row. In August they got a silver medal at the WBFSH Young Horse Championships, and two years ago a 5-year-olds a bronze medal at the same World Championships.

The end scores being very tight between these two stallions, the runner-up was the double Ermelo-winner and breeding stallion D’Avie by Don Juan de Hus/Londonderry. 5th was the previously approved stallion, now gelding, UNO Don Olympic (Blue Hors Don Olymbrio/Del Piero) bred by Stuttteri UNO and ridden by Anna Zibrandtsen, and as 7th the DWB Vichy Pax (Vivaldi/White Magic) bred by Dorrit Axel and Thomas Pensbo, ridden by Joachim Chr. Thomsen.
