DWB mare Gjenganger Grand Champion of the Devon Breed Show10-10-2019 - 12:28

3-year-old DWB mare Gjenganger did very well:

On Thursday September 26, 2019 the 3-year-old Danish Warmblood mare Gjenganger by Grand Galaxy Win/Blue Hors Don Schufro became Grand Champion of the 2019 Devon Breed Show.

Devon hosts one of the biggest annual sport horse breeding shows in the USA and takes place over three days before the international dressage competition in Devon, PA, USA. The Devon Breed Show includes breed classes but also saddle material classes. The horses are divided into classed by breed, but also by age. The Grand Championship is the culmination of the show, bringing together the champion and reserve champions of the two biggest classes: The Young Horse and Mature Horse Championship.

The Filly Championship had six young mares contesting for the title and it was the 3-year-old Danish Warmblood mare Gjenganger owned and bred by Alice Tarjan who won that class. In the following Young Horse Championship the two top fillies and the two best from Colt/Gelding Championship were running for the overall title, and it was Gjenganger who moved intot the winner’s circle with the yearling colt Newport Jazz WRF (by Everdale/Jazz) as runner-up.

In the concluding 2019 Devon Grand Champion contest Gjenganger became the overall winner and grand champion. Alice Tarjan bred Gjenganger herself; she had bought the Danish mare Donna Dee in Denmark, had her graded during the 2016 NADWA/DWB Inspection to the main studbook and picked the stallion Grand Galaxy Win for her.

Congrats to Alice Tarjan who believes Gjenganger will do young horse classes next year!
