Showjumpers qualified for DWB Young Horse Championship in Herning08-11-2019 - 08:27

During the Danish Warmblood Stallion Show in Herning, also the DWB Young Horse Championships take place. For the Katrinelund Young Horse Championship the 41 best 4-year-old DWB showjumpers have been found and they will compete in Herning, March 2020 where they will then have turned 5.

41 horses and 10 reserves are chosen for the Katrinelund Young Horse Championship during the festive days in Herning where the DWB Stallion Show, CDI5*, CDI3*, CSI3*, CSI2*, clinic, gala shows, and the huge Horse & Rider tack fair take place covering all arenas for 5 days in a massive exhibition center in Herning - the biggest in Denmark.

The young showjumpers will be shown twice by own rider and have scores from our judges, and the best then go on to a final where the test rider Andreas Schou will ride, comment, and give his own scores. A consolation class will be held for those that were not qualified for the final.

All competitors are Danish Warmblood and their qualifying tests are held in the autumn and are so-called ability tests for 4-year-old Danish Warmbloods; mares, geldings, and stallions. Three venues had showjumping, and in the coming weekend the last dressage discipline ability test is held.

Who are the predominant sires of the horses qualified?

The holsteiner stallion Balou has 7 offspring, the BWP stallion Favorit Ask (full-brother to Elvis Ter Putte) has 6 offspring, and Balou du Rouet has 3 among the 41 best DWB showjumpers listed here.

With each two offspring follow the breeding sires Quinton, Zirocco Blue, and Rockland. One Danish-bred stallion is the grandsire of three of the Herning competitors, and that is Cajus who himself won a bronze medal as 6-year-old in the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Zangersheide in the year 2000.

As you can see in the list showing the qualified horses and their scores in the ability tests the preliminary top-listed horse is P Diddy by Party Dance/Jackson, ridden by Pernille Tribler and bred by Aino Moos Horses.
