This year we got two bronze medals and one silver medal, and within the 6-year-olds we also gladly took the opportunity to claim the best dressage mare of her age group, namely the silver medal mare Straight Horse Ascenzione (Blue Hors Zack /Blue Hors Don Schufro – full sister to triple World Champion Sezuan) who got 6th. She was bred by Straight Horse ApS in Allerød, and co-owned by breeders and Helgstrand Dressage.

Among the 5-year-olds the DWB gold medal mare Queenspark Wendy (Sezuan/Blue Hors Soprano) ridden by Andreas Helgstrand got a bronze medal. She was bred by Kurt Gosmer, Dronninglund and owned by Helgstrand Dressage.

Another bronze medal went to the 6-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding Zhaplin Langholt by Glock’s Zonik/Stedinger and again ridden by Andreas Helgstrand. Zhaplin Langholt was bred by Ole Magnus Jensen and Bente Graasbøl and co-owned by Helgstrand Dressage and Sølyst Heste ApS.

The silver medal was so close to being a gold medal – but one small mistake happened, and by a very small margin to the gold medal, the breeding stallion Hesselhøj Donkey Boy (ERA Dancing Hit/Milan) got 2nd among the 7-year-olds. Like the two previous years ridden by Jan Møller Christensen. When Hesselhøj Donkey Boy was 5 years old the couple got a bronze and last year they were 4th. He was bred by Dorthe and Hans Jørgen Hoeck and owned by Equi Stallion.

Danish Warmblood stallions were very well represented in Ermelo

Five out of nine medal winners were by a DWB stallion! Two were by Sezuan, two by Zonik, and one by ERA Dancing Hit. Two of these were bred in Germany, and also outside the medals there were Dutch-, Swedish-, and German-bred dressage horses by Danish Warmblood stallions such as UNO Don Diego, Skovens Rafael, and Zonik, which proves and international demand for Danish stallions.
