Blue Hors Don Olymbrio here with Daniel Bachmann Andersen in the saddle, was awarded the title elite stallion in 2017. He is a GP dressage competitor and has very succesfull offspring in breeding as well as sport.Rules regarding appointment of Elite Stallions within DWB are as follows:
The breeding commission can at any age level appoint stallions for elite status. The stallion must fulfill at least 4 of the below basic requirements. Furthermore, if the stallion does not fulfil item 2, then item 6 MUST be fulfilled:
1. The stallion has performed at an appropriate level in sport and has at least gained status of medium-level competitor at regional level (in dressage that would be at least 3 x MB/Danish class specifications with at least 60% at regional level. In showjumping this status complies to 3 x clear-rounds in at least 1,25 m competitions in regional competitions. Three best dressage- or showjumping performances must be sent along with the other documentation and the application)
2. At least 30 offspring have been judged at exterior evaluation. At least 50% of the judged offspring have either been graded to main studbook (mares) or been pre-selected to go to the DWB Stallion Show (stallions)
3. The stallion has several progeny who have achieved significant results in sport or at performance tests
4. The stallion has a calculated breeding value in the DWB which clearly exceeds the average of the population in either gaits or showjumping
5. The stallion has at least 5 offspring qualified for the finals of the Danish Young Horse Championships in dressage or jumping
6. The stallion has several offspring with A-status in sport, in dressage comparable to what would be at least 3 x MA/Danish class specifications with at least 60% at national level. In showjumping this status complies to 3 x clear-rounds in at least 1,35 m competitions at national competitions. The offspring that should have achieved these results must be mentioned with full name and UELN no if their performance is made in Denmark, and if performing abroad their performances must be documented with their 3 best performances in connection with applying.)
In certain cases exemptions can be granted. Stallion owner or stallion station must send application along with full documentation to at the latest on October 1st, 2019.
The stallion must be licensed in Danish Warmblood himself and the offspring counting for him in the application must all be DWB-registered.
If sufficient documentation is not enclosed the application, the appplication will be returned and not discussed. There is no fee for applying.
