The Danish Warmblood Elite Foal Auction presented by Dansk Hesteforsikring proved a great success. At the first hybrid auction held in collaboration with Horse24, 31 foals were sold for a total of €392,500.
There was strong bidding from Danish buyers as well as considerable international interest when Danish Warmblood held its Elite Foal Auction featuring a carefully selected collection of dressage foals. The auction combined online bidding with the traditional presentation of the foals in the main arena during the KRAFFT Elite Show presented by Stutteri Søbakkehus.
A total of 31 foals were sold, corresponding to an impressive sales rate of 91%. The foals generated total sales of €392,500 and achieved an average price of €12,661.
International Interest and Strong Danish Bidding
The auction attracted prospective buyers from well beyond Denmark’s borders. Bids were placed from countries including Belgium, the Netherlands, the USA, France, Germany, Norway and Sweden, and seven of the foals sold will be heading to buyers abroad.
The international interest once again underlines the excellent reputation enjoyed by Danish-bred dressage horses and demonstrates that Danish Warmblood breeders produce foals that appeal to ambitious buyers across national borders.
Danish buyers were also extremely active. Bidding was lively both online and in the arena as the foals were led in and presented to the audience. This created a vibrant and intense auction atmosphere, with the live experience in the arena complementing the bidding on Horse24 perfectly.

Skilled Breeders and Strong Dam Lines
The impressive result is founded on dedicated and accomplished breeding. The collection featured modern and attractive dressage foals from performance-proven dam lines with documented results in both breeding and sport.
Behind the foals are skilled and committed breeders who, through carefully considered stallion selections and many years of work with strong mare families, have created an attractive foundation for the breeding and sport horses of the future. The high sales rate and broad interest from both Danish and international buyers therefore also represent important recognition of the breeders’ efforts.
The Hybrid Format Reached a Wide Audience
The collaboration with Horse24 made it possible to combine the traditional auction in the arena with a modern digital bidding platform. Buyers could follow the auction and place bids regardless of whether they were at Vilhelmsborg or abroad.
The result demonstrates that the hybrid format can create both an exciting atmosphere in the arena and extensive international reach. With 31 foals sold, a sales rate of 91% and total sales of €392,500, Danish Warmblood’s first hybrid auction in collaboration with Horse24 got off to an exceptionally positive start.
