The average price of 40,823.53 is the biggest ever in the history of NIS. Again, like previous years, the two most expensive foals were by KWPN sport stallion Franklin, and both foals in question were Danish Warmblood registered colt foals.

Farrington Pilekær by Franklin/Sir Donnerhall I from Stud Pilekær run by Anne Mette Rossen & Lars Langenhoff in Aabenraa was a big, large-framed mover and he went to the Danish-based Havgaard Horses who actually also bought the most expensive foal at the first year of NIS in 2017 - the most expensive filly foal ever, Faretti I.

The other Franklin foal in question was Francetti, whose dam Souvenir is a daughter of the two exclusive and only dressage horses ever to have won all 3 possible age groups of World Breeding Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Verden and Ermelo respectively; Sezuan and Fiontini, both Danish Warmbloods. Francetti was bought by the owners of Fiontini, Stutteri EVO who could not leave this colt behind when having bought its full sister Fellini at last year’s NIS auction.

Most expensive filly foal was the Springbank II VH daughter Spring-Rose-Ø, grandsire Blue Hors Farrell, from Bente & Jens Møller in Brande, DK. The dam of Spring-Rose-Ø is half-sister to the champion of several licensings in Denmark and Germany, Blue Hors Zackerey.

Showjumper foals

Most expensive foal among the showjumper foals was the filly Conta Blue by Conthargos/Chacco Blue which sold for 29,000 EUR and the showjumper colt foal Constaro by Chacoon Blue/Converter sold for 25,000 EUR.
