Chianto by Carano x Primus AA was bred in Denmark in 1996 and as a 7-year-old he was purchased by Canadian showjumper Alison Moore. Alison trained and showed Chianto herself for the following four years, and then she handed over the reins to Jonathan Miller. In 2008, Chianto was paired with another experienced Canadian showjumper; John Pearce.

Together, Chianto and John Pearce won 30 Grand Prix victories and placed on top-10 more than 100 times winning more than 1.1 million USD.

The pair was part of the Canadian national team which finished 5th at the WEG in Kentucky in 2010, finishing 8th in the final.

Chianto won his last Grand Prix as the age of 19 and went on to enjoy his well-earned retirement with John Pearce in California. In February 2021, the showjumper legend passed away at the age of 25.
