Historic Gold for Jupiter DWB at the Stallion Licensing in Herning05-03-2026 - 19:51

On Thursday, the first stallions were licensed at the Danish Warmblood Stallion Show in Herning, where both jumping and dressage stallions entered the arena in KRAFFT Arena M

At the Danish Warmblood Stallion Show, the Thursday offered a historic moment when the jumping stallion Jupiter DWB was awarded a Breeder’s Medal in Gold – only the second time in Danish Warmblood history that a jumping stallion has received this honor. The stallion was brought at the Danish Warmblood Elitefoal auction.

Jupiter DWB Honoured with Gold

The selection began with the 5-year-old and older jumping stallions. The group consisted of seven 5-year-olds and two 6-year-olds, all of which had previously passed a performance test and were therefore eligible for final licensing.

The stallions were first shown jumping under their own rider and were then presented without saddle to the audience and the breeding committee consisting of Signe Wiese, Allan Blomgren, Bo K. Møller and spokesperson Johnny Hansen.

As tradition dictates, Breeder’s Medals were awarded to the Danish-bred stallions in the group. Four stallions received bronze, two received silver – and for only the second time in Danish Warmblood history, a Breeder’s Medal in Gold was awarded to a jumping stallion.

The gold medal went to the grey stallion Jupiter DWB, who won his 20-day test last autumn. At the same time, the stallion was awarded Elvin Rasmussen’s Trophy and named Champion Stallion of the group.

“This is a stallion of outstanding type. He shows beautiful harmony in his body and an impressive masculine expression. He jumps with great surplus, plenty of power in the take-off, and with very correct technique and quick reactions,” said Signe Wiese.

She also highlighted the development the stallion has undergone since the breeding management first saw him as a 3-year-old in 2024, when he appeared very immature, but already then impressed with his jumping capacity.

17 Dressage Stallions Fully Licensed

Later in the day, 17 dressage stallions aged four years and older received their final approval. The stallions were presented under saddle in KRAFFT Arena M, after which the breeding committee provided their evaluations.

The traditional Aage Ravn Trophy, awarded to the best Danish-bred stallion after passing the performance test, went to Invictus Iwe by Iron/Quaterback, bred by Iben W. Deleuran of Iwe Horses. The stallion was sold as a foal to Helgstrand Dressage.

Unfortunately, Invictus Iwe had stepped on himself prior to the presentation and was therefore spared from being ridden during the licensing. Nevertheless, the stallion was highlighted for his modern sport type, expressive trot, and a well-balanced canter with great carrying power. He also received a Breeder’s Medal in Silver.

The Champion Stallion of the dressage group was the performance test winner Daan G. by Hesselhøj Donkey Boss/Blue Hors Don Olymbrio, bred by Helene Geervliet and owned by Helgstrand Dressage and Paul Schockemöhle. The stallion won his 35-day test with 912 points and was described by the judges as very charming, well-uphill and of outstanding type.
