American DWB Breeders met in Herning 06-03-2026 - 12:51

Several American DWB members made the long journey to Herning, Denmark to experience the stallion licensing, riding competitions, the Young Horse Championship, and the exhibition fair. On Friday morning, a small gathering was arranged for the American guests.

Since 2002, Danish Warmblood events have been held in the United States under DWB’s American division, the North American Danish Warmblood Association (NADWA). Every two years, a team of DWB judges travels to the U.S. to inspect foals and evaluate mares, geldings, and stallions. This year, a tour in the U.S. is planned for September, when members of the Danish Warmblood Breeding Committee, Vicky Nortvig and Signe Wiese, will travel to the United States.

Several NADWA members were in Herning this year, and on Friday morning a gathering was organized where the American guests, who had traveled from across the United States, could meet each other. It also gave Danish Warmblood president Jan Pedersen, the opportunity to greet them and thank the American breeders for their commitment.

There was also an opportunity to recognize Jane Hayes, who has been a member of NADWA since 2001 and, since 2006, has been responsible for the operation of NADWA and especially for planning the inspection tours.
